How to properly clean and sanitize your kitchen sink and getting rid of any foul smelling odors

 Did you know that your kitchen sink has 100,000 times more germs than your bathroom toilet? So it's important to know how to properly clean and sanitize your kitchen sink and get rid of any foul smelling odors your kitchen drain produces.

First you need to scrub and clean your kitchen sink, use hot soapy water with a clean sponge. Rinse out the sink with warm water. Next you will need to sanitize your sink. Once again instead of using harsh chemicals like bleach we will be using hydrogen peroxide. Put some hydrogen peroxide and water into a spray bottle, spray down your kitchen sink, let it stand for at least 5 minutes before wiping away clean with a clean paper towel. 

To get rid of foul smelling odors from your kitchen sink you will need to pour hot water down the drain for a few minutes. The hot water will loosen up soap scum and any other foul smelling debris in the drain. Add 1/2 cup of coarse salt to the drain, The salt acts as an abrasive on debris clinging to the side of the drain. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of baking soda down the drain. Next you will pour 2 cups of white vinegar or lemon juice down the drain. Both vinegar and lemon juice will react to the baking soda right away. Cover the drain with it's stopper or place a towel over the drain to force the bubbling mixture down the pipe. Wait at least 10 minutes for the cleaner to take effect, than flush the drain with more hot water. Repeat these steps if you can still smell foul odors.

Kitchen germs are also present on trash cans, doorknobs, faucets, stove handles and fridge handles. You should be cleaning and sanitizing these kitchen items daily for a healthy kitchen space.
